Late last year UCU launched a survey of our members on casualised contracts in which we asked about the impact of precarious contracts on the struggle to make ends meet. Too often our colleges and universities are happy to use the line that institutions and staff alike ‘value the flexibility’ of casualised contracts. Our casualised members tell us that they struggle to pay bills, to get mortgages and to access social security benefits and tax credits. Please help UCU to expose the reality of life on casualised contracts. Thanks to those of you who have already completed our survey.
